Little League Baseball Divisions:

4Tee and 5/6 Tee Ball
Tee Ball is the entry level division for players, ages 4-6. The experience is grounded in fun, fitness, and fundamentals. What is most important is  growing a child’s love for the game. 4T and 5/6 Tee Ball Divisions are both coed. Each 4-6 year old Little Leaguer is required to play one season of Tee Ball before being eligible for consideration to advance to either A Baseball or Coach Pitch Softball.

Tee Ball players use bats and (soft) baseballs designated specifically for use in this division. The roster size for a 5/6 Tee Ball team averages 6-7 players. The season typically runs approximately 6 weeks from the start of May through mid-June, featuring 2 games per week usually played on a rotating Monday-Friday schedule.

Tecumseh Elementary is home to the Tee Ball Divisions.

A Ball
A Ball is a coach pitch minor league baseball Division for League Age 6 and 7 year olds. Pitches thrown soft toss strengthen the ability to make contact without using a tee.  Fun is still the name of the game but players are also taught more fundamentals like how to properly swing the bat, stepping and throwing, position play, etc.

A Ball players still use (softer) baseballs designated specifically for use in this division. The roster size for an A Ball team remains small at 6-7 players. The season typically runs approximately 6 weeks from the start of May through mid-June, featuring 2 games per week usually played on a rotating Monday-Friday schedule.

Moses DeWitt Elementary is home to the A Ball Division.

AA Ball
AA Ball is a player pitch minor league baseball Division for League Age 7 and 8 year olds. Players pitch for the first time as well as get on the gear to explore the position of catcher. If/when a pitcher throws four balls, a coach finishes the at bat to keep things moving. Scores are generally not kept, although players can strike out at this division.

The roster size for a typical AA Ball team is generally around 8 players. The season typically runs approximately 6 weeks from the start of May through mid-June, featuring 2 games per week usually played on a rotating Monday-Friday schedule. Volunteer coaches are encouraged at this level to have one practice per week to reinforce concepts of position play, situation baseball, etc. as players get old enough to start understanding the game.

Jamesville DeWitt Middle School is home to the AA Ball Division.

AAA Ball
After at least one year of AA, League age 9 and 10 year old players advance to AAA Ball where the level of competition increases. A skill assessment is performed to determine readiness of League Age 8 year olds. Games are umpired, ball and strike counts are kept as are team win-loss records. At this level, players also become All-Star eligible. Swinging the bat and making solid contact, intelligent base running, making defensive outs all start to take shape. In other words, at AAA it starts to look a lot more like baseball! Parents and players can expect at least one practice per week in addition to two games to refine fundamentals.

Little League requires that the roster size for a typical AAA Ball team be between 10-15 players but we try to keep it between 10-12 when possible. The season typically runs approximately 6-8 weeks starting a little earlier than the younger divisions often around mid-April and continuing through mid-June. 2 games per week is still typical. It is essential to have one practice per week to reinforce concepts of position play, situation baseball, etc. as players get old enough to start understanding the game.

Majors
Majors is the final Division on the smaller (46/60 ft.) diamond. Majors is for League Age 11 and 12 year olds although 10 year olds may also "play up". A skill assessment is performed to determine readiness of League Age 10 year olds. Majors play is exciting because you will see years of hard work and learning pay off.
